PROTERRA PLANT RESQ™ and SOIL RESQ™ are scientifically blended liquid nutritional concentrates composed of carefully selected natural organic ingredients. They are probiotic (for life) compounds as contrasted to antibiotic (against life) compounds.
Each product contains a proprietary mix of nutrients, enzymes, humic acids, bio stimulants and prime organic materials varied to meet the precise requirements of both plant and soil life. These products differ from traditional chemical fertilizers in that they are non-toxic, ecologically compatible, and are NOT narrowly focused on the short term needs of particular plants. Instead, they are focused on the long range nutritional needs and health of plants and soil. They do not cause shock or toxic conditions to soils or plants.
PROTERRA PLANT RESQ™ and ProTerra™ can be used to repair and revitalize soil and plant (tree) growth in damaged forests. When used together, they convert decomposed matter on forest floor to nutrients. They get trees growing again. They convert damaging chemicals such as sulfur to nutrients. They make all kinds of grasses, from feed crops to lawns, grow healthier and disease resistant. When used on vegetable and fruit crops, the produce tastes better, looks better and has longer shelf life. Earthworm population will increase greatly in soil treated with ProTerra. An earthworm population increase indicates rich, balanced soil. In one location, PROTERRA PLANT RESQ™ and ProTerra™ converted "salt intruded dead" acreage into productive acreage after three applications. PROTERRA PLANT RESQ™ and ProTerra™ can be mixed together and sprayed on for easy, economical application. One quart per acre of each product applied 3 or 4 times per year is usually sufficient to return even the most damaged soils and plants to full health.

In addition, PROTERRA PLANT RESQ™ and ProTerra™ provide a full balanced spectrum of trace minerals and bio-stimulants not present in other fertilizers.

The aerobic biological systems that live in the soil breakdown and assimilate organic nutrients and create humus. Humus is the organic portion of soil formed from the partial decomposition of vegetable or animal matter in or on the soil.

Healthy soil contains high populations of microbes and a substantial supply of humus. PROTERRA TECHNOLOGIES, INC ProTerra™ provides rich liquid humus and energy stimulation for this microbial population. This provides properly balanced nutritional requirements of the micro-biological systems in the soil and healthy plant growth.
Humus formation in soils is essential because it acts as a sponge in holding moisture and bonding minerals and nutrients in the root zones of the plant. This prevents leaching of nitrates and other materials harmful to the environment. Soils rich in humus and organic matter buffer the plant from harmful salts and toxins which tend to accumulate in the soil after years of chemical applications.

When fed with nutrients and water and a good supply of oxygen, indigenous microbial populations in the soil perform multiple functions critical to growth and survival such as nitrogen fixation, soil aggregation, oxygen and carbon dioxide release, mineral conversion for plant use, buffering of toxic conditions in the soil environment, rhizosphere protection to the root system, translocation of nutrients in plant tissue, etc.

A good soil will have a structure of 25% water, 25% air, 45% minerals and 5% organic material or humus. If these elements get out of balance, major problems occur. For example, too much water leads to black layer, too little air causes compacted soils and poor water penetration. Lack of humus leads to leaching and loss of nutrients. PROTERRA TECHNOLOGIES, INC ProTerra™ and Plant ResQ help maintain a well balanced soil structure.
For optimum crop response, phosphorus should be maintained at or near 10% of the nitrogen level. If a leaf sample contains 4% nitrogen, then the phosphorus level should be about 0.4% of dry weight.

A good healthy soil contains up to 14 billion bacteria, 560 million actionomycetes, and 28 million fungi per ounce of soil. Most soils are less than 15% of optimum microorganism levels. Some tilled soil is totally lacking in one or more of these organisms.
With numbers near the optimum level 60 to 80% of the organic matter in soil well be turned into humus which is the slow release reservoir of plant nutrients. The remained will become unusable forms (humin). At low microorganism levels, less than 20% of the organic matter returns to the reusable form.
